The body of a man who has been missing since September has been found.
According to Alaska State Troopers in Bethel, human remains were found in a river near Napakiak on Friday. After being sent to the State Medical Examiners in Anchorage, the remains were identified as those of missing person, Stacey Hoagland, age 28, of Akiak.
Hoagland went missing in September of 2018 during a boating accident where Holly Mayeda of Bethel died, as well. Mayeda’s body was found in September in the Kuskokwim River. At that time, Bethel Police investigated a submerged boat that Mayeda and Hoagland were last seen in.
Bethel Search and Rescue looked for Hoagland, as well. The AST dispatch report from September’s incident states there were no signs of foul play. Stacey Hoagland’s next of kin have been notified.
