West Valley Dominates Swimming Championships

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The interiors team met up for the Region six swimming and diving championships, and they were dominated by the West Valley Wolfpack for both the girls and boys events.
The girls team scored 126 points, outpacing the next closest team in the Hutchison Hawks who only had 49 points.
Lathrop rounded out for third with 47 points. West Valley has won their 10th straight regional title.
For the boys, it was a little closer, with West Valley scoring over 100 points, while Hutch scored 81 points. North Pole finished third with 77 points.
Both Wolfpack squads dominated the 200 yard medley.
For the girls events, Annie Conley won the 200 yard individual medley for North Pole, while Katy McCarther swam well for Lathrop winning the 50 yard and 100 yard freestyle races.
All the first place finishers in the regional qualifier earned spots into the Swimming and Diving State Championships down at Bartlett High School.
