Nanooks Volleyball are Victorious in Their Final Game of the Season

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Alaska Nanooks volleyball team this past weekend put in a valiant effort to send their seniors off with a win over the Montana State-Billings Yellowjackets in a five set thriller.
The Nanooks lost the first set 25 to 16, but they responded winning the next two sets 25 to 19 and 25 to 20.
The Yellowjackets won the fourth set 25 to 15, forcing a fifth set.
In the fifth, the Nooks closed out the game, winning it 15 to 11 to win in sets of three to two.
The Nooks were led by Cate Whiting's 39 assists, Maddie Davis' 18 kills, and Jenna Hickel's 29 digs.
The Nanooks finish the season 11 and 17 with a conference record of four and 15 for their best finish since their 2008 season where they were 20 and 10 that year.
The Nanooks say goodbye to their seniors, but they now have something to build off of.
