FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Alaska Nanooks have kick started the Thanksgiving Classic in Washington with a dominating 108 to 60 win over the Capilano Blues.
The Nanooks were all over the Blues from the get-go, as they were up 26 to 2 eight minutes into the match.
The Nanooks shot 62 percent from the field, while also hitting 56 percent of their threes, as everyone on the Nooks scored in this match.
The Nanook who stood out was Joe Lendway, as he dominated the field with 23 points on 10 of 11 shooting, eight rebounds, and four assists.
Lendway showed during the match that not a lot of people can get around him as he gobbled up rebounds and put in the hard work down low.
Alaska is once again doing the assist work by committee with the Nooks getting 28 dimes on the day.
While the Nanooks couldn't keep Denver Sparks-Guest from scoring a bunch, they limited the rest of the Blues to practically nothing on the night.
The Nanooks had 28 points off of turnovers, and they also out-rebounded the Blues 37 to 27, while they limited the Blues to only 34 percent shooting.
The Nanooks now prepare for their matchup with the University of California San Diego, where they look to continue their strong efforts in the Thanksgiving Classic Tournament.
