FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Hutchison Tournament saw an amazing start with Delta Junction taking on the Tri-Valley Viking Warriors.
Delta won six to three, as they were led by Thomas Warren who had four goals on the night, which included getting three of those in a row.
Those three goals came in the third period, where Delta was able to pull away from Tri-Valley.
In the other match, the Bartlett Golden Bears opened up the first period going up three to nothing on the Hutchison Hawks, which resulted in the Hawks' switching out goalies.
That change also gave the Hawks new life, as Alayah Brunty came into the goal, and showed she was ready for the challenge.
Brunty came in and helped stop the Golden Bears attack for the rest of the first and held them scoreless in the second.
Overall the team lost seven to one, with Alec Easty scoring their only goal in the third period.
The Hawks may have found something, as Brunty showed heart by sticking through the Bartlett Bombardment.
For the West Valley Wolfpack, they had a difficult time against the South Anchorage Wolverines losing five to one down in Anchorage.
Jaren Beckley scored West Valley's only goal.
Nicholas Corbin scored twice for South, while Sam Jemmings, Zac Nelson, and Logan Orr all getting into the net.
Down in the Palmer Hockey Showdown, the Lathrop Malmeutes lost four to one to the Colony Knights, with Deondric Henderson hitting the only goal for them.
On the other match, the Monroe Catholic Rams lost seven to four to the Wasilla Warriors.
