FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Two inmates involved in the prison riot in August of 2017 were arraigned in Fairbanks Superior Court today.
22 year old Marcus Howard, and 34 year old Donovan Huntington, are both facing charges of Rioting and Criminal Mischief after the disturbance broke out at Fairbanks Correctional Center on August 17th.
The riot started in the facility's "A" wing, after which tactical officers and the Special Emergency Response Team attempted to negotiate the prisoners' surrender.
According to reports, the inmates reacted by breaking windows and pouring soap and water on the floor.
The inmates finally surrendered when officers deployed chemical irritant gas.
