FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Officials identified the woman who died yesterday while attempting to cross the Alaska Highway.
Alaska State Troopers say 43 year old Jennifer Weeks perished after being struck by a car 15 miles southeast of Delta Junction.
Troopers report the accident happened just before daylight hours on a long stretch of roadway near mile 14-01.
It was snowing at the time, and the driver said he had been going slower than the posted speed limit.
Trooper Investigation showed Weeks may have been walking on the roadway due to a buildup of snow on the shoulder.
