FAIRBANKS, Alaska - In the early afternoon, Guttenberg's office contacted the Capitol City Fire Department to tell them the 66-year-old member of the state House of Representatives was having a medical emergency.
The incident took place during a meeting of the House Finance Committee, on which Guttenberg serves, but he had returned to his office before calling for aid.
A spokesman for the House Majority Caucus said Guttenberg was alert, conscious, and talking to first responders during the ride to the Juneau hospital.
His fellow legislators and Governor Bill Walker expressed wishes for his recovery and swift return.
