National Salvation Army Week Continues Through Weekend

The Salvation Army is celebrating the 62nd annual 'National Salvation Army Week' - an event observed immediately after Mothers Day.

National Salvation Army Week was first declared by President Eisenhower in 1954 - 74 years after the Salvation Army was first established in the US.
While some places celebrate with parades and donuts, the Fairbanks store celebrated yesterday with a shopping event that included cake, coffee, and a random drawing for a discount on your purchase.
The Salvation Army helps many in need in various ways - including food donation, and the annual Christmas bell ringing.
