FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Rotary Club of Fairbanks and the Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce held a joint luncheon with keynote speaker Governor Bill Walker.
Taking place in the Glacier Room at the La Quinta Inn and Suites, Governor Walker faced a full room of business and community members to discuss the recent natural gas pipeline project deal that was signed by President Trump, and China's President Xi earlier this month.
Walker discussed how the pipeline project will bring in 8 to 10 million dollars per year to help offset the deficit, offset emissions in China, and create 8 to 10 thousand construction jobs in Alaska.
After the speech, Governor Walker took questions from the audience, including whether or not there will be gas delivered to Fairbanks while on its way to China.
Governor Bill Walker; (I) Alaska>>"I think that the uses are going to be far and wide, so by all means, first priority is making sure Alaska has first opportunity."
