Fort Wainwright Observes Child Abuse Prevention Month

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Garrison COMMANDER Colonel Sean Fisher signed the proclamation, adding that love isn't supposed to hurt.
With the theme of the event being 'Kids are Super', Colonel Fisher and Command Sergeant Major Juan Cornett were presented with their own superhero capes.
Colonel Fisher says signing these proclamations allows more than just parents to be involved.

Colonel Sean Fisher; Garrison Commander, Fort Wainwright >> "In having proclamations like this and recognizing child abuse prevention, it gets leader engaged, it puts a focus on community resources that we can surround parents who may be in crisis will the recourses they need to break the cycle of abuse. The Army has a tremendous amount of resources available to new parents and to leaders to help orient new soldiers who may be in crisis to those resources."
