Fairbanks Man Arrested On Attempted Murder Charges Following Vehicle, Foot Chase

39-year-old Fairbanks man, Vincent Nelson, was arrested last night and booked on charges of Attempted Murder and 1st degree Failure to Stop.

According to reports, yesterday at approximately 3:30 pm, Fairbanks Police witnessed Nelson and two others pull up to 1215 Bunnell street where Nelson confronted the victim, threatening him with a handgun that ended up firing.
FPD engaged in a chase that ended in a residential area off Bias Drive, where Nelson appeared to have fled on foot.
After searching the surrounding woods, with the aid of HELO 2, police gave the all clear.
Later, around 8:20 pm, police located Nelson in a wooded area of Birch Hill Road near Shenandoah Drive.
He ran through the woods toward the Steese Highway, and at approximately 9:00 pm was taken into custody without incident.
