City Council Member Jerry Norum Resigns

Fairbanks Mayor Jim Matherly also announced during the city council meeting that council member Jerry Norum had resigned from his position as a city council member.
Norum was elected to council seat D back in October 2016.
His term was set to expire in October 2019.
Mayor Matherly thanked Norum for his service to the city during his mayor's comments and report.
Under the articles of the Fairbanks City Charter, Mayor Matherly will appoint an individual to fill the vacancy in Norum's council seat later this month.
There was no information released by the city as to why Norum resigned.
