$1.4 Million in Heroin, Methamphetamine Seized in Anchorage Bust

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Alaska State Troopers and the Anchorage Police Department, along with multiple federal agencies, arrested Anchorage Resident, 28-year-old Cheng Chiew Saechao, on charges of drug trafficking in large quantities.
The arrest came shortly after the United States Postal Inspection Service seized nearly ten *pounds of methamphetamine that was being shipped to Alaska from California.
When law enforcement searched Saechao's residence, they found roughly 4 kilograms of heroin.
Between the methamphetamine and heroin, the collective estimated street value of the seized drugs is 1-point-4 million dollars.
If Saechao is convicted, he faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years to life in prison, a $10-million dollar fine, and a minimum of five years of supervised release.
