Pet of the Week: Jace the Dog

By  |

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - For this week's News 13 Pet of the Week, we go to the borough animal shelter and check in with an energetic dog named Jace.

Kimberly Imbert; Borough Animal Control>>"Hi, I'm Kimberly, and this is Jace. Jace is a lab-pit-bull mix who was brought to the shelter, because his owner worked long days, and he's a young active dog who needs a lot of activity in his life. After brief adoption, Jace returned to the shelter and is looking for his forever family. He's a lab-pit-bull mix. Those are really active, athletic breeds, and they both love to please people, so they're great for training, they make excellent students in obedience classes. He is really is in tune with people and is really affectionate. Jace has lived with children, dogs, and other cats. He is a really well rounded dog, and he had a really nice upbringing to make him a really family friendly dog. He needs someone who has time to train him in basic obedience and manners, and someone who has the time for exercise on a daily basis, because he's just young and athletic dog that needs a lot of activity. Jace is housebroken. He didn't know how to walk on non-carpeted floors until he came to the shelter, but he has gotten a lot more confident with that. He love squeaker toys and I think he loves playing fetch, also. Jace is hoping to find a family that hopefully has time to take him to classes and to also take him on walks and play all kinds of games everyday. He would be a really fun pet for someone who is looking for a nice dog that would be a good companion in obedience classes. He also has other dog, cat, and other small animal friends at the shelter looking for loving homes."
