FAIRBANKS, Alaska - In the spirit of Halloween, we will be introducing some 'odd ball' pets for you to add to your family.
Let's go meet News 13's Pets of the Week.

Kimberly Imbert; Animal Tender>>"Hi I'm Kimberly and this week's Pets of the Week are all of our exotic animals. We have quite a variety at the shelter and are a great place to look for your new pet if you are looking for something different than a dog and a cat. We have a pot belly pig, chinchillas, ferrets, mice, and an iguana. A lot of these animals aren't great for small children so therefore, adults who have an interest in these animals. And some of them have very specialized care; such as iguanas are very complicated to set up and maintain their body temperature and humidity in Alaska. Pot belly pigs are extremely intelligent and this one in-particular doesn't get along with children or dogs so he needs some special training and a lot of things to do because he is highly intelligent. The chinchillas are very social and are really fun to interact with but they don't like to be held, they like to explore and interact with you on their terms. They are very inquisitive and friendly. The mice are really social and sweet girls. The ferrets haven't had as much socialization as some but they are really curious and really sweet with people. If you are interested in expanding your family with something other than a dog and a cat, we do have those too, please come and visit us."
