Pet of The Week: Toby and Ben

By  |

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - "Hi I'm Kimberly and this week's Pets of the Week are Ben and Toby. Ben and Toby were brought to the shelter because their owner had too many rats. They are really sweet and well socialized boys. One of them has been started on clicker training but we are not sure which one. Rats are really intelligent and interactive pets, so they can learn how to be clicker trained much like a dog can. They are really fun pets to have, they are great if you don't enjoy being outside in the winter, they are great pets because you can hang out with them and give them plenty of space to exercise right inside your home. Their enclosures don't take up a whole lot of space, even when you give them a nice, big spacious one because you want to give them a lot of variety and a lot of options to exercise and explore and do really fun things when you're not at home. Ben and Toby are really good friends so when you are busy at work or school, they entertain each other and cuddle and hang out. They have a pretty basic diet, they just need healthy food with some treat supplements and fresh water and clean bedding on a regular basis. They are really fun pets to have and we have other rats who will be available for adoption also. If Ben and Toby aren't the right pets for you, they have other dog, cat, and small animal friends looking for loving homes as well."
