DTV Changeover: What You Need to Know
On February 17, 2009, digital signals will replace analag signals as the method for television broadcasting. Digital television has many advantages
over analog, including better picture (say goodbye to "ghost" images or "snow" interfering with your reception!), better sound, and the ability for stations
to broadcast on more than one channel.
If your television was made before 2007 and you currently use "rabbit ears" or an outside antenna, you are probably receiving an analog signal. This means
you will need to purchase a converter box to avoid losing over-the-air local programming.
Although all TVs made since March 2007 are required to have digital tuners, stores have been allowed to sell analog sets that were already in-stock.
So even if you have a newer TV, you may still need a converter box.
If you are a cable or satellite subscriber, you will not require a converter box. You may want to contact your provider to ask how they will be handling the transition.
For an application to receive up to two $40 coupons toward the purchase of your converter box(es), visit this site:

**Special note for KTVF viewers in the Delta and Healy areas:
The February 2009 deadline does not apply to you. Your signals will remain analog until further notice.
