HOUSTON, Alaska (AP) — After Houston Mayor Roger Purcell borrowed a city police car to drive to Fairbanks, the officer checked the dashboard video and found he had used police lights to pass other cars.

Sgt. Charlie Seidl told KTUU that Purcell impersonated a police officer on the December drive just so he could get to Fairbanks faster.

City Council member Virgie Thompson says the mayor should face charges.
