Wrestlers from seven interior schools converge for West Valley's Red Gold Invitational

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - There were seven interior Schools competing at the West Valley Red and Gold Wrestling invitational over the weekend.
The Delta Huskies, Eielson Ravens, Hutchison Hawks, Lathrop Malemutes, Monroe Catholic Rams, North Pole Patriots, and the Host West Valley Wolfpack were all competing.
The First Gold Bracket saw Eielson's Deven Perez win the 106 pound Weight Class.
The Ravens earned two other wins in the bracket, Graham Staley took first in the 145 pound class and Josh Storey won the 160 pound class.
Adam Jockusch was Eielson's lone first place finisher in the Gold 2 Bracket in the 145 pound weight class.
The North Pole Patriots saw first place finishes from Sabastian Benefield in the 113 pound class, Darinn Peterson in the 126, Jake Alexander in the 132, and Bradley Antesberger in the 285 pound weight class.
Jared Peterson Took first place in the 152 pound weight class in the Gold 2 Bracket.
William Poland took first in the 120 pound weight class for the Lathrop Malemutes in what was their only first place finisher of the tournament.
Hutchison Representatives Kye Pearce and Matthew Fagan both won their weight classes, Pearce in the 138 and Fagan in the 195.
Riley Rust earned the one first place finish for the Monroe Rams, taking the 126 pound weight class.
The Host School West Valley had wins in the 152 pound weight class by Allen Holland, Malachi Brooks in the 170, and Isaac Coon in the 138 pound class in the second gold bracket.
The Lathrop Wrestling team split to compete in both this tournament and the Halloween Monster Bash down at South Anchorage High School.
They finished third thanks mainly to Nathan Kisgen and Wyatt Story.
This weekend, the Eielson, Delta, Galena, and Hutch wrestling teams will be competing in the ACS Invitational while Lathrop, North Pole, and West Valley will compete in the John Tobin Invitational out at North Pole High School.
