FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Two West Valley Soccer players signed their National Letters of Intent to play soccer at the next level yesterday.
Kiara Simpson will be going to Boise State, while Hannah Olson will be taking her talents to St. Cloud State.
These two helped lead the Wolfpack Girls team to a 16-1 record and a state tournament berth last season while also being named to the All-Mid Alaska Conference team.
Boise State is an NCAA Division 1 team located in Boise Idaho who finished in second place in the Mountain West Conference last year.
St. Cloud State is a Division-II school located in Minnesota who finished 9th in the NSIC last year.
Both of these girls are looking forward to playing the sport they love at their new homes.
Kiara Simpson; Committed to Boise State>>"Boise State, by far just stood out to me. The minute I got on campus it just felt like home. The minute I got there I just knew this was where I'm going to go. And the coaches did such a great job of telling me like, 'We don't care about just Soccer, we want to develop you so that you're going to be a great wife someday. You're going to give back to your community.' They just really care about you as a person and not just as an athlete."
Hannah Olson; Committed to Saint Cloud State>>"They had a great science program and great academics in general. That was obviously a plus. And then on the athletic side, the coach and the whole program was just really positive and welcoming. It's one of the most positive programs I've been a part of."
