We had some Flag Football action last night as the West Valley Wolfpack defeated the Lathrop Malemutes 18-0.
Freshman Quarterback Tessa Lindberg had a huge game for the Wolfpack.
She completed 2 touchdown passes from 19 and 23 yards respectively to account for the Majority of West Valley's Scoring.
The play of the game may have been from Tana Weckwerth who took a run up the gut for a 73 yard touchdown to give the Wolfpack their first score of the game.
The Wolfpack are now 1-1 on the year and will be hosting the North Pole Patriots on Friday and the Lathrop Malemutes will host the Hutchison Hawks tomorrow at 6pm.
Lindberg explains what made the difference between this game and the Team's season opening loss to South Anchorage.
"I studied the plays a lot more. I was making sure my teammates knew where they were going. There was a lot of confusion on plays on where people were going. So I would talk to them individually 'Ok you know where you're going, I know where I'm throwing.' Just studying the plays, I studied them in school when I had free time. I was pretty amazed frankly. We had a senior quarterback last year. Coming in as a freshman was just, it was a different kind of feeling for sure starting. And having such a leading role on the team was something else."
