UAF Volleyball players earn Honorable Mentions

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Great Northwest Athletic Conference announced their Volleyball All-Conference team and two Alaska Nanooks earned some recognition.
Middle blockers Riley Podowicz and Kim Wong earned Honorable Mentions.
This is the first honor for either player and the first time an Alaska Volleyball player has recieved honors since 2015.
Podowicz was a senior this year and appeared in 107 sets for the Nooks.
She finished the season with 175 kills and a point 2-6 hitting percentage, which ranked 10th in the conference.
She finished the year by breaking four team records, including blocks in a single game, solo blocks in a season, block assists in a season, and career blocks.
Wong is a sophomore who played 106 sets for the Nooks this year, earning herself 172 kills.
She was a force to be reckoned with defensively, earning 56 blocks.
She also broke four program records, including season attack percentage, season solo blocks, season block assists, and career attack percentage.
These two helped lead the Nanooks to a 12 and 17 record this season, which tied their highest win total since 2009.
