UAF Cross Country Ski team earns National Championship Berth

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The UAF Cross Country Skiing team finished up their stay in the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association Championships with the 15 and 20 Kilometer mass start freestyle Races.
The first Nanook to cross the finish line in the Women's 15K Freestyle Race was Anna Darnell, who finished 16th overall in 53 minutes and 56 seconds, earning her team 17 points in the process.
The first Male racer to finish the 20K was Seiji Takagi, who finished the race in one hour and one minute to place 14th overall.
At the end of the three day event, the Nooks finished with 181 points thanks to 95 from the men and 86 from the women.
They have now qualified for the National Championships, which will take place on March 8th through the 10th down in Steamboat Springs Colorado.
