Nanook swim team falls to the Division One University of the Incarnate Word

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Alaska Nanooks fell to the University of the Incarnate Word in a weekend series at the Patty Center Pool.
The Division 1 Cardinals were able to sweep the Nooks with wins on both days.
They outscored the Nanooks 104-84 on Friday and 107-83 on Saturday.
In total, the Nanooks earned 9 first place finishes between the two days.
On Friday Oda Bygdnes won the 50 yard freestyle, Erika Kakazu won the 100 yard backstroke, Cassidy Heaton won the 500 and 1,000 yard freestyle events, while Claire McElroy won the 100 yard breaststroke.
Saturday saw the Nooks get first place finishes in the 100 yard freestyle thanks to Katy Stark.
Cassidy Heaton won the 500 yard freestyle for the second consecutive day while Clair McElroy won the 200 yard breaststroke.
The Nanooks also won the 800 yard freestyle relay on Saturday.
The Nooks now have a couple weeks off before the PCSC Championships on February 14th through the 17th.
