FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Alaska Nanook Hockey Team will be in action on the road tomorrow night when they take on the Lake Superior State Lakers in a two game WCHA Series.
The Nooks are coming off of a tough home sweep at the hands of the Michigan Tech Huskies.
Friday Night's game saw the Nooks lose 5-4 after giving up a three goal lead.
Saturday's game wasn't as dramatic as the Nooks lost 5-1.
Those losses dropped the Nanooks down to 2-7-1-1 in Conference play and to 8th place in the WCHA.
With their 8 conference points they are actually tied with Bemidji and their opponents for this weekend, Lake Superior State.
Despite their losses the Nanooks have been fun to watch this year.
Sophomore Forward Kylar Hope is leading the team in scoring with six goals and seven assists for 13 total points this year.
Four other Nanooks have scored double-digit points this year. Colton Leiter, Justin Woods, and Steven Jandric all have 11 while Zach Frye has earned 10.
Jandric's 10 assists rank him first in the WCHA for that category, while our Hometown Team Captain Justin Woods leads the team in goals with seven.
The Lakers are coming in with a 2-4-2 WCHA Record.
This is the first time these teams have squared off since February 18th when they skated to a 3-3 tie.
