Monroe Catholic Hockey team dominates to a 15-1 Victory

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - There was some Greatland Conference Hockey yesterday afternoon at the Big Dipper Ice Arena when the Monroe Catholic Rams hosted the Hutchison Hawks.
The Rams dominated every aspect of this game and collected a 15-1 victory.
Monroe scored 7 times in the first period alone to help coast to victory.
Riley Ott earned himself a hat-trick in the first period while Antonio Szumigala scored twice and Caleb Sandborn and Silas Hughes each added one goal.
Ott finished the day with 4 goals.
The Defense for Monroe Catholic was phenomenal as Rams Goaltender Jaden Pasillas only earned 3 saves to secure the win.
The Hawks were able to find their way to the back of the net once thanks to Frank Thurmond in the second period.
Hutchison Goaltender Drake Berrian was under fire for the entire game, collecting 39 saves despite the loss.
The loss will drop the Hawks to 1-8 overall on the season and 1-3 in Greatland Conference play.
The Rams are now 7-6-1 this year and 2-0 in the Conference.
Hutchison will have another tough contest tonight when they take on the Lathrop Malemutes at the UAF Patty Center.
Monroe Catholic is now done for 2017 and won't return to the ice until January 4th when they travel down to Juneau-Douglas.
