FAIRBANKS, Alaska - We had some high school Hockey action out at the Polar Ice Arena earlier this week when the North Pole Patriots hosted the Monroe Catholic Rams.
The Rams were able to escape this one with a 5-3 victory.
The Patriots had a 2-0 lead after the first period.
They were then up 3-1 at the halfway point of the middle frame.
The Rams were then finally able to get their offense going and score four more unanswered goals to take home the victory.
Silas Hughes led the Rams in scoring, earning himself a hat trick, including the tying and winning goals for his team.
Antonio Szumigala and Evan Fritze also added goals for the Rams.
The Patriots got their scores thanks to Brandon Groesbeck, Cody Frarey, and Traivin Siebels.
The win improves the Rams record to 4-4 on the year while the Patriots fall to 1-4.
Monroe will be in action tonight at the Big Dipper Ice Arena against the Palmer Moose while the Patriots will host the Moose tomorrow night.
