FAIRBANKS, Alaska - There was a whole lot of high school wrestling here in the Interior last night.
At Lathrop High School, the Malemutes hosted the West Valley Wolfpack and dominated their way to an 88-0 victory.
The Malemutes, who were coming off of a second place finish at the 30-team Lancer Smith Memorial in Palmer last weekend, won every weight class in this meet, collecting 10 wins by fall, 3 by forfeit, and 2 by technical fall, meaning that they won by enough points to enact a mercy rule.
Jacob Spencer and William Poland accounted for the Technical falls, Spencer winning 22-5 and Poland winning 15-0.
The Malemutes will now get a break before hosting both Eielson and West Valley on November 28th.
There was also a Quad meet last night out on Eielson Air Force Base.
The Ravens hosted the Delta Junction Huskies, the Hutchison Hawks, and the North Pole Patriots.
The Ravens defeated the Huskies 16-15 before falling 16-12 to Hutchison.
The North Pole Patriots were then able to defeat the Ravens 21-19 to close out the meet.
The Pats will be off for the rest of the week but will be back in action on November 29th against West Valley.
Hutchison is off until the Glennallen Invitational on December 1st.
