FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Lathrop Volleyball player Maggie Zanazzo signed to play at the next level yesterday on Joe T. Court.
Zanazzo will be heading to Porterville College.
The 5 foot 6 Setter was named to the All-Mid Alaska Conference team at the end of her senior season and was one of three Lathrop players honored.
Maggie plans on playing volleyball for a four year school after getting her associates degree with Porterville.
The Pirates are a Junior College in Porterville California and are members of the California Community College Athletic Association.
Zanazzo said that the location of the school was a big selling point in her decision to sign.
"Well, first of all, it's in California, it's not in Alaska so it's much hotter there. It's closer to home than the East Coast or any other place in the States. And I also have family in California so it would be pretty easy to see them because they're only a few hours away. It's pretty awesome to be able to go to college and be able to play my favorite sport and get better every day there," said Maggie Zanazzo, Porterville College Volleyball.
