Interior Teams well-represented at Swimming State Championships

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Our interior Swimming teams were competing in the State Championships in Anchorage over the Weekend.
The preliminaries started on Friday and the Finals on Saturday.
In the Girl's team scores, the West Valley Wolfpack led our interior teams, finishing in 8th place with 23 points.
The Lathrop Malemutes tied for 12th with 12 points.
Monroe Catholic tied for 16th place with 4 points and the Hutchison Hawks finished 30th with 1 point.
Individually for the girls, Patty Eppingher and Anastasia Chen from West Valley both had top 4 finishes.
Eppingher finished second in the 100 yard backstroke and Anastasia Chen placed 4th in the same event.
Malemute swimmer Katy McCarther took second place in the 100 yard freestyle and fourth in the 50 yard freestyle.
On the Boys side of things, Lathrop was the top Interior school, finishing at 9th overall with 13 points.
Hutchison tied for 12th, West Valley tied for 14th, and North Pole was able to tie for 16th.
Alex Suleimani was the big winner for the Lathrop Malemutes, taking second in the 200 yard freestyle and third in the 100 yard breastroke.
