Ice Dogs split series with Janesville Jets

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Fairbanks Ice Dogs were able to avenge their loss to the Janesville Jets on Friday by defeating them 5-3 on Saturday Night.

The Dogs scored 4 of their goals in the first period alone.
Two of those goals in the opening Frame were scored by Hunter Wendt.
Janesville did stay on pace with the Dogs, scoring two goals in the first period and making it a one point game in the second frame.
Tanner Schacle was finally able to put the Jets away for good, scoring with just over a minute left in the game.
Hunter Wendt had a phenomenal game.
He finished with two goals and an assist.
John Stampohar, Tanner Schachle, and Robert Blueger also scored for the Ice Dogs.
Blueger and Daniel Haider both dished out two assists.
Josh Benson earned the win in goal for the Dogs.
He stopped 33 of the 36 shots fired at him to seal the deal for the now 7-2-1 Ice Dogs.
The Dogs will play at home for the first time this season on Friday and Saturday, they will host the Minnesota Magicians in a two game series.
Both games start at 7:30 pm at the Big Dipper Ice Arena.
