FAIRBANKS, Alaska - We had ourselves a Non-Conference Double Header last night between the Mid Alaska Conference's North Pole Patriots, and the Aurora Conference's Hutchison Hawks.
It tipped off with the boy's game, which saw the Patriots win 63-54.
The Patriots held their lead through all four quarters of this contest and they were up 34-28 at halftime.
They were able to use that hot start to coast to victory.
Four different players earned double-digit points for the Pats.
Craig Borba led the way with 17 points while Kenny Peterson and Matt Brown both added 13.
Alex Garcia earned 10.
Ross Matherly led the Hawks, matching the game-high with 17 points.
The roles were reversed for the girls game as the Hutchison Girls won 23-16.
The tough defensive battle saw the Hawks go into halftime with a 12-7 lead after holding the Patriots to 1 point in the second quarter.
Kianna Kriska led Hutch with 11 points while Susan Glade and Kati Hauer led the Patriots, each with four points.
Tournament action is up next on the schedule for Hutchison.
They will head down for the Seward Tournament next Thursday.
The Patriots were set to host Kodiak tonight, however Kodiak's plane was unable to fly up due to high winds.
That game has been rescheduled for Saturday night.
