H.S. Football Recap: North Pole-Juneau-Douglas; Monroe-Valdez

By  |

All five of our Interior High School football teams were playing on the road this weekend, and the action wrapped up with a pair of wins on Saturday.

The North Pole Patriots are now one win away from sealing a playoff berth after defeating Juneau-Douglas on Saturday.

The Patriots defeated the Crimson Bears 22-16 in a Southeast Conference game that brought them to 5-2 on the year and 1-1 in Conference play.
The Pat's now have to win their season finale against the 0-7 Ketchikan King Salmon this Wednesday to lock in the second playoff spot for the SEC and earn a date with SoHi in the first round.

The Monroe Catholic Rams won their second game in a row with a 56-22 win over the Valdez Buccaneers.
Josh Gray was the MVP for this one, as he finished with four touchdowns.

The Rams are now 4-3 overall and 1-2 in Conference play.

Monroe has a big chance to cause some Drama this week as they take on the Eielson Ravens on Saturday.

If the Rams can defeat the Ravens, then Eielson will be tied with Houston in the Conference standings, and could potentially miss the playoffs.
