FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Before the Fairbanks Ice Dogs look for their 24th win in a row against the Shreveport Mudbugs tomorrow night, a select few of them got to represent the Midwest Division in the NAHL's Top Prospect Tournament.
Caleb Hite, Kyle Mayhew, Connor Chilton, Jax Murray, and Goaltender Josh Benson were selected to the Top Prospects Tournament and helped guide the Midwest to the Tourney Title.
The Midwest, who were also coached by Dogs Head Coach Trevor Stewart, won the tournament with a perfect 2-0 record after defeating the Red Selects team, which was made up of other players from around the league including Ice Dogs Forward Sam RUffin, by a score of 5-1 on night one.
They then defeated the Central Division to secure the tournament crown with a 2-0 record.
Now the Ice Dogs will turn their attention to the Mudbugs, who currently have the second best record in the league right behind the Dogs.
