Fairbanks Ice Dogs sweep Kenai River Brown Bears; are now tied for first in the NAHL Midwest Division

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Fairbanks Ice Dogs were on the right side of a weekend sweep when they took down the Kenai River Brown Bears down in Soldotna.
The Dogs dominated their way to a 7-0 win on Friday night, and then skated to a 5-2 win on Saturday.
Saturday's game saw four different Ice Dog players find the back of the net.
Hunter Wendt scored twice while Erkka Vanska, Jack Johnston, and Jax Murray all scored once.
Vanksa, Johnston, and Murray also scored in Friday Night's game.
Samuel Ruffin led the team in points on Saturday by dishing out three assists.
Jake Willets also handed out two while Daniel Haider, Grant Ledford, Caleb Hite, Jack Johnston, and Luke Orysiuk all finished with one.
For his 4 assists this weekend, Orysiuk was named the Star of the Week for the NAHL Midwest Division.
Goaltender Logan Neaton had a great weekend between the pipes, only allowing 2 goals in the two games.
The wins put the Ice Dogs up 3 games to 1 in this year's RAVN Alaska Cup series against the Brown Bears.
They are also now tied with the Janesville Jets for first place in the Midwest Division.
The Dogs have 30 conference points thanks to their 13-5-2-2 overall record.
The Dogs will be in action back home at the end of this week.
There will be a special three game series this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday against Kenai River at the Big Dipper Ice Arena.
Thursday's game will be at 7pm while Friday and Saturday's games will start at 7:30.
