FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Fairbanks Ice Dogs continued their road trip this weekend, and they were able to completely avenge their loss on Friday night to the Springfield Jr. Blues.
On Saturday the Dogs defeated the Blues 3-1 to split the series.
Springfield actually got on the board first in this one, scoring the only goal of the first period.
The Dogs tied the game in the middle frame thanks to a Jake Borgida goal.
The Dogs added on two more goals in the third thanks to John Stampohar and Erkka Vanska to put the Blues away.
Tanner Schacle dished out two assists for the Dogs, who also got one apiece from Connor Chilton, Robert Blueger, and Daniel Haider.
Goaltender Logan Neaton was one save away from a shutout as he stopped 11 of the 12 shots fired at him to help secure the win.
The Dogs now only have one more series on the road before finally returning home.
They will take on the Janesville Jets on October 13th and the 14th.
They will finally return to the Friendly Confines of the Big Dipper Ice Arena with a two game series on October 20th and the 21st against the Minnesota Magicians.
