Fairbanks Ice Dogs fall in Shootout to Minnesota Magicians

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - This game took every single of regulation and overtime and had to go to a shootout, where the Magicians were able to steal a 3-2 Shootout win.
Minnesota jumped out to a 2-0 win in first period but the Ice Dogs were able to chip away at that lead and tie it up at two thanks to a Caleb Hite goal in the second and then Nolan Schaeffer's in the third.
The two teams remained tied up through the five minute overtime period.
Magicians Forward Bram Scheerer then scored the only goal for either team in the shootout to win it for his team.
Schaeffer and Hite earned goals for the Dogs while Daniel Haider, Robert Blueger, Hunter Wendt, and Erkka Vanska earned assists.
A brawl near the end of the first period accounted for 30 minutes of penalties alone as Noah Lugli from Minnesota and Grant Ledford for the Ice Dogs both recieved 5 minute major and 10 minute misconduct penalties.
The Dogs are now 7-2-2 on the year while the Magicians improve to 5-3-1-1.
The Dogs will be looking to get the Magic back on their side tonight when they wrap up their series against Minnesota at the Big Dipper Ice Arena.
