FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Speaking of sweeps, keep those Brooms out because the Fairbanks Ice Dogs finished one of their own on the road this weekend.
The Dogs defeated the Minot Minotauros 6-5 on Saturday.
The Dogs scored all six of their goals in the first period.
Their defense then had to hold off Minot for the remaining 2 periods to add yet another team to their winning streak.
The Ice Dogs passed the Puck around in this one as six different players scored their goals.
Hunter Wendt, Tanner Schachle, Caleb Hite, Jake Borgida, Robert Blueger, and Jax Murray all lit the lamp.
Erkka Vanska dished out three assists to lead the team in that category, while Blueger earned two, and Schachle, Murray, John Stampohar, Luke Orysiuk, Samuel Ruffin, and Jack Johnston all added one.
This was the 17th win in a row for the Ice Dogs who are undefeated in 2018.
The win brings the Dogs up to 32-5-3-2 overall this year.
They are first place in the NAHL Midwest Division with 69 points, 12 points in front of the second place Janesville Jets.
