FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Fairbanks Ice Dogs will be in action this weekend for their last series before they take a break for Christmas.
This weekend they will be down in La Crosse Wisconsin to take on the Coulee Region Chill.
The Dogs are coming into this one after a weekend sweep of their Divisional Rivals the Minnesota Magicians.
The Dogs won Friday Night's game 4-1 and Saturday's game 8-3.
This served as a revenge series since Minnesota swept the Dogs earlier this year in the Big Dipper Ice Arena.
This past weekend also saw one Ice Dog get some bonus recognition for his efforts.
Samuel Ruffin was named the Midwest Division's Star of the Week.
He finished the series with seven points thanks to 5 goals and 2 assists.
The future Alaska Nanook earned 3 of those goals and half of his assists in Saturday's victory.
He has been a dynamic Skater this year.
He has earned 27 points in the 27 games the team has played.
The Dogs will be going into this weekend with a 17-5-3-2 overall record.
They hold first place in the NAHL Midwest Division with 39 points.
Coulee Region on the other hand is last in the Midwest with a 7-13-1-5 record and 20 conference points.
