FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Fairbanks Ice Dogs also split their weekend series after defeating their opponent on Friday.
The Ice Dogs defeated the Kenai River Brown Bears 7-1 on Friday and had seven different players score goals.
However, Saturday's game down in Soldotna saw the Dogs fall 2-1 in Overtime.
The game was scoreless until the final period when Fairbanks finally found the back of the net and scored what would be their only goal of the day.
Kenai River was able to tie it up with just over three minutes to go in regulation, then hit the game winner two minutes into the sudden death Overtime period.
Daniel Haider scored the only goal for the Dogs on Saturday off of assists from John Stampohar and Jax Murray.
Dogs Goaltender Logan Neaton took the Overtime Loss in this one, allowing two goals off of the 30 shots he faced in his 62 minutes on the ice.
The RAVN Alaska Cup Series is now tied at one game apiece.
The Cup will be decided by a 12 game series that will run throughout the season.
The Dogs have won the cup every year since 2013.
Up next, the now 9-4-1-2 Ice Dogs will host the Bismarck Bobcats this Friday and Saturday at the Big Dipper Ice Arena.
