Fairbanks Ice Dogs Dominate Brown Bears; Take 2-1 lead in RAVN Alaska Cup Series

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Fairbanks Ice Dogs continued the RAVN Alaska Cup series down in Soldotna against the Kenai River Brown Bears last night.
The Ice Dogs skated their way to a dominant 7-0 victory.
The Dogs spread the puck around as all of their goals were scored by different players.
Nolan Schaeffer, Daniel Haider, Tanner Schachle, Robert Blueger, Erkka Vanska, Jack Johnston and Jax Murray were all able to tickle the twine.
Blueger, Johnston, and Murray also each dished out one assist.
Schaeffer finished the day with four points on the night by dishing out three assists.
Samuel Ruffin handed out two for the Ice Dogs while Luke Orysiuk, Daniel Haider, Grant Ledford, and Tyler Deweese all earned one assist.
Logan Neaton had the best day a Goaltender could ask for, stopping all 23 shots fired his way in his 60 minutes in goal to secure the shutout and the victory.
The Ice Dogs are now 12-5-2-2 on the year and now have sole possession of second place in the NAHL Midwest Division with 28 conference points.
They are now one point behind the first place Janesville Jets.
More Importantly, the Dogs are now up 2 games to 1 in the RAVN Alaska Cup series.
The cup will be decided by a 12 game series between these two squads that will run throughout the season, The Ice Dogs have won the cup every year since 2013.
