Fairbanks 49ers and Alaska Wild battle South Anchorage in American Legion play

This past weekend the Fairbanks Legion Baseball teams were busy with the Legion team from South Anchorage in town.
South played each team twice.

They opened play this weekend with a game on Friday night against the 49ers.
South took home the win in that game by the score of 6-4.

On Saturday they played the Wild in a double-header. Those two games were all South.
They jumped all over the Wild winning the first game 16-6.
They would put up 16 runs in the second game as well, with the Wild only managing to push one across home plate.

The Wild were swept in the double-header and Sunday the 49ers got another crack at South.
It was a tightly contested game, but the 49ers were defeated 3-2.

South sweeps both Fairbanks teams in four games over the weekend. Both the 49ers and Wild sit at 1-6 on the season and are tied for 6th place in their division.
The two teams have eleven games remaining on their schedule.
