FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Mushers of the 2018 Yukon Quest have been on the trail since Saturday morning and, as it is every year, it has been a very competitive race.
Currently Allen Moore is our top Dog.
Moore was the first racer to get into the Slaven's Hospitality Checkpoint this afternoon.
Four out of the top five have made it to Slaven's as Paige Drobny came in closely behind Moore.
Laura Neese and Defending Champion Matt Hall have been going back and forth for third place all day, while Ed Hopkins is right on their tail, rounding out our top five for right now.
Our current Red Lantern holder is Mark Stramm, who was the last musher to check into the Central Checkpoint, where he will be serving his mandatory 4 hour layover.
We have had two mushers scratch from the race as Mike Ellis withdrew at the Mile 101 Checkpoint yesterday, a decision he made for the Well-being of his team.
Kathrine Keith withdrew at circle this morning after she broke her wrist at some point on the trail.
Our remaining 24 mushers will now charge ahead to the Eagle Checkpoint before crossing the Canadian Border.
We will be giving you daily updates on our race leaders until the 2018 Quest comes to an end.
