FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Nanooks scored 4 goals in the first period, but three of them all happened within a minute.
Justin Woods scored 12 minutes and 16 seconds into the game, Colten Leiter then scored 12 seconds later to give the Nooks a 2-0 lead.
Troy Van Tetering then scored his first goal of the night to put the Nooks up 3-0.
Van Tetering then scored the remaining two goals at the end of the first and midway through the second period to secure a hat-trick for himself and the win for his team.
Tyler Cline earned himself two assists while Colton Leiter, Zach Frye, Kylar Hope, Nikolas Koberstein, James LaDouce, and Steven Jandric all dished out 1 assist.
That was Jandric's 11th assist of the season, strengthening his lead in that category.
Nine out of the 18 skaters who suited up for the Nanooks were able to get onto the scoresheet in some way.
The Nooks are now 5-10-2 overall this year and 3-7-1-1 in WCHA play.
Last night's win was enough to move the Nanooks out of that three way tie for 8th place in the WCHA.
They are now in 7th place and just two points behind Alabama Huntsville and Ferris State, who are tied for 5th.
The Nanooks will take on the Lakers once again tonight.
They will return to Alaska to take on UAA in Anchorage on December 8th and 9th.
