12 different Wrestling Teams compete in Hutchison Meltdown Tournament

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - There was a massive Wrestling Tournament over the weekend at Hutchison High School.
The Hutchison Meltdown saw teams from 12 different schools competing last Friday and Saturday.
When it was all said and done, the 98 pound weight class was won by Isaac Wood from Lathrop.
The Malemutes also won the 132 pound class thanks to Matthew Sanchez and the 152 with Nathan Kisgen.
Deven Perez won the 106 pound class for the Eielson Ravens.
The Dirty Birds also won the 160 pound class thanks to Josh Storey and the Girls 145 pound class with Nailah Bealer.
The North Pole Patriots earned the most first place finishes, they split the 113 pound classes with Sabastian Benefield winning the boys and Kailey Fowlkes winning the Girls.
They also split the 120 pound class with Darinn Peterson winning the boys and Raeann Jackson winning the girls.
Hayden Alexander won the 145 pound class for the Patriots while Kyle Kochrine won the 170 and Bradley Antesberger took the 195.
The Delta Junction Huskies earned a pair of wins thanks to Jason Montes in the 126 and Calista Wright in the Girls 220.
The Host School earned a pair of wins as Kenya Edwards won the 132 girls class and Kye Pearce won the 138 pound class for the Hutchison Hawks.
West Valley earned a win from Taryn Plunk in the girls 160 while the Monroe Catholic Rams won the 285 pound class thanks to Tanner Clark.
All of our interior teams will be competing this weekend down in Palmer at the Lancer Smith Tournament this Friday and Saturday.
