Youth Safety Day returns this Saturday

The 10th annual Youth Safety Day will be taking place this weekend, filled with lots of fun and entertainment for the kids.

Spirit of Alaska Federal Credit Union hosts the event, and they say that this year they will expand a popular attraction - the bike rodeo.

The event is free and open to the public.

First responders such as firefighters and police will be there, as well as other community organizations.

Youth Safety Day will take place at the 'Goldstream Regal Cinemas' Parking Lot from 11 A.M. to 3 P.M. this Saturday, August 19th.

Sarah Greer, Marketing Specialist, Spirit of Alaska:
"As long as it's not raining, will have the fire slide so the kids can take turns going on the fire slide which is great. Spirit of Alaska is doing online safety, playing online safety game. There's the boy scouts and girl scouts are there so they can be exposed to those organizations. Youth Safety Day is also a recruitment tool for boy scouts and girl scouts who can come, talk, find out more, they'll have some activities for the kids. The water safety will be done by the guys out at the Chena Flood Projects they'll be talking about boat safety and so there's lots of different activities for kids to experiencing and do and do something hands on too."
