UWA Bazaar to help support scholarships

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The University Women's Association hosts their 49th annual bazaar this weekend, and all proceeds go towards educating young minds at UAF.
The event takes place Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM to 4 PM at the Civic Center in Pioneer Park.
This year's bazaar features more than 120 vendors throughout 3 levels of the center.
Many artists, authors and crafters will be selling handmade Alaskan items, and there will also be musical performances.
Alaskana kitchen will be on the third flooring selling lunch and refreshments.
UWA urges shoppers to attend both days of the bazaar, as 25 percent of the vendors will change.
The event is free and open to the public.
All proceeds from vendor fees go to the University of Alaska Fairbanks "Friends of UWA" Scholarship Fund.
The Chair of the Bazaar, Pat Ivey, told us how vendors have to apply to sell at the Bazaar by sending in pictures showing their homemade items.
Pat Ivey; Chair - UWA Holiday Bazaar>>: "We make sure that they are handcrafted, and for the most part, local. We get a number of very high quality vendors. I'm always surprised at the talent we have here. We have 132 vendors, we are not the only bazaar in town, so that gives you a sense of the talent we have here and we are very appreciative of it."
