UAF's Resident Assistants prepare to move incoming Freshman into dorms

For first year college students, moving into a new dorm can seem like a daunting task.
But the Resident's Assistants, or RA's, at the University of Fairbanks are available to help.

According to Returning RA, Monroe Morris, incoming freshmen should bring a mini fridge under 3 and-a-half feet, a 1,000 watt microwave, laundry supplies, and of course, bedding.

Items that students should stay away from are aerosols, wick candles, and furry pets.

Fish are the only pets allowed in UAF dorms.

Morris shared his advice on what he wishes he knew when he was a freshman.

"Some that I definitely wish that I knew when I first came here two years ago, is that you wanna be as outgoing with your RA's as possible because they're here to make your life as easy and as fun as possible and they're huge wealth's of information. They're always willing to lend a helping hand and answer any questions that you have and just being on friendly terms with your RA's so they can help you out if you ever need it and so that you know the policies of UAF."
