FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - The No Limits Incorporated Prosperity House is hosting an open house Friday to show off the facility and explain its mission.
The Prosperity House is a new permanent supportive housing program that provides homes to the homeless. Their mission is to help with resettlement services to the marginalized and disadvantaged.
No Limits Inc.'s target population is men and women who have recently been released by the justice system, or that have had a chemical dependence that has impeded their ability to create a stable living situation for themselves.
The open house takes place at 2 p.m. at 2223 Cushman Street. Special guests include Mayor Jim Matherly and Mayor Karl Kassel.
"We took over this project a year ago, and we went through the process of getting the housing ready, getting the rooms ready; we turned them into efficiencies," explained No Limits, Inc. president Kelvin Lee. "It used to be an old hotel that we repurposed to provide permanent supportive housing for homeless individuals and people coming out of the system."
